: Kevin,
: I was wondering what you thought about the schools that are trying to get creationism back in public instead of darwinism. Which side do you support?

When Kansas chose to disregard darwinism from their school's curriculum, it was a slap in the face of rationality. Creationism is the product of fuzzy logic and circuituous reasoning and should be kept out of schools, with the exception of extra-curricular group prayers and discussions. Matters of faith should not be promoted by the state. They are for individuals to indoctrinate on their own.
Darwinism is not a theory. It is proven scientific fact. If you want to disregard evolution, then you have to deny the effectiveness of antibiotics...and most of modern medicine for that matter...as well as the fossil record.
If people want to learn creationism, they are free to do it at sunday school, but neither creationism, nor theistic evolution belong in scientific textbooks. Creationism is a literary construct. Plain and simple. There are sociological, archaeological, and anthropological methods of tracing monotheistic beliefs to patriarchal, shepard herding communes. In addition, you will find that those same beliefs of creation have very similar origins in the Enuma Elish, a Babylonian text. Matters of faith belong in church. Matters of rationality belong in schools.
