I can't quite put my finger on it, but something about so many people jumping up and explaining how they agree about rape and violence against women is wrong. The first few people who noted how well spoken both Jennifer and Kevin were on the subject were in good shape, but now...
Now there just seems to be two groups... the people who are pointlessly nitpicking what Kevin said, and the people who are jumping up and down to get attention, "I hate rape, too!" in the same way they stood up and shouted "I hated MAGNOLIA, too!" last week. Now, while if people are going to behave like sheep, it may as well be agreeing to something that supports the public good, like being against violence (of whatever sort).
Somehow it still just has that ring of being sheep, and I find insincere expressions of things like this... things that require a commitment and a belief from a real place, I think... that make me see how mallable people can be, and I just wonder how many of these people could just as easily be the people following their more charismatic friends to gang rape or beat someone.
As it is, this whole thing serves no real end at this point. Jennifer and Kevin had ideas that they felt needed to be expressed here. They did an excellent job. I think there's only so much discussion of it that needs to be done.
I could be wrong, though.
