: : Not bent out of shape especially.::
: If you were'nt bent out of shape, you would not be here, fraulein.
Nope. Again, just curious, son. No more, and no less, than I said.
: My raging insults rattled you.If "one guy's opinion" can shape others, then why do you give a shit about the "others"?<
You obviously care about what *I* have to say, because you keep replying to it. So are you saying that what is acceptable for you to do is not acceptable to me? Or are you saying you don't care about what I have to say? In which case, you're replying to me based instead on curiosity or a sense of "challenge"...which means you're doing exactly what you contend that I'm not doing.
There was a time a year or so back where a fan posted a review about one of my books that was absolutely scathing. I read it, shrugged, thought, "Ah well. Better luck next time," and thought no more of it. A week passes. Same guy starts a new thread: "Peter David Doesn't Give a Crap About Fans." His reasoning? Because I *hadn't* published a rebuttal to his review, I obviously didn't care about the fans. So it's pretty much a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't situation. Which is fine: I knew the job was dangerous when I took it. Sometimes I undertake replies, sometimes I don't. I'm a moody fellow. It depends on my mood.
: : You seem to be trying to turn a simple fact-finding expedition into a series of diatribes or "what's your problem?" rants.:::::
: No, I have figured out what your problem is. You are egotistical and use that facade of intelligence to cover insecurities. If you had any true sack, you would never have responded to my "raging insults."
See above. Although I wouldn't say that I try to cover my insecurities. I wear my insecurities on my sleeve. Never made any bones about that. I'm not egotistical; I'm just neurotic. Thing is, I am at least secure enough in myself that I can conduct a conversation without gratuitous insults. Can you?
