To all that want to listen or read,
My name is Michael Grifin and I am, by profession, a christian
entertainer. While shopping at my local K-Mart, much to my
delight, I came across 'Dogma' on DVD.
I had heard all kinds of this and that about this movie, and
having viewed the trailer online, I was very eager to purchase
and watch this film that I heard was so controversial that the
Roman Catholic church was up in arms and death threats were
being issued.
And after watching this film, I have only this to say:
KEVIN SMITH IS A F***ING GENIUS!!!
Never in the 36 years that I've walked GOD's earth, have I
spent so much time hitting the rewind button while watching
a movie. This movie made me think and look at the GOD I
worship in a way I had yet to.
If the Catholic community got upset, I know why: THE TRUTH HURTS.
There seems to be no joy in the Catholic church, and church is
meant to be a celebration of GOD's love...not some overblown
parade of tradition, pomp and circumstance.
The message I got from this film, is that GOD is powerful and
that HIS(or HER)love is gracious and merciful.
And what is wrong with that?
....but for some strange reason, since I've watched this film...
I can't seem to stop saying f***....oh well.
I will pray for you Kevin Smith.
I will pray that the GOD that blessed you with the talent
you possess will continue to bless and prosper you.
