I think your answer is in the summaries, but why not tell the story everyone has heard, one more time.
As best I can remember...
Kevin did write a script for Superman and the people liked. The producer, John "I used to cut hair" Peters did ask him to do a few altercations, including the addition of a giant spider (Because he heard from his kid's teacher that they inspire fear, for superman to fight as well as some angry polar bears and they told him that some of the dialogue had to go because it was a toy movie. Another thing Peters wanted was to never see Superman fly, because it "looks gay" and he wanted to know what Superman looked like. Kevin then turned in another script with some of the corrections asked for, including a giant spider and an angry polar bear. Then Time Burton and Nic Cage were attached to the movie as director and star respectively and all of a sudden the script was no longer good enough. So writer after writer came in to rewrite the script but none were apparently good enough because the movie was not to be and in all reality it looks like it will never happen.
