: Because, while they were OKAY, if those are the best episodes (most :audience responsive, anyway), then I don't know about this series. I :enjoyed 'em, definitely, but I do understand why ABC has been shaky over :the series.
I really dug the first episode, especially after multiple viewings. Episode 2 had some laughs, but I only laughed out loud once: "I'm not your mate, fag."
: And, of course, the annoying running gags that, while I like, most of my :friends would get pissed off at, and change the channel. "Why are we :walking like this?", for example.
I can see people getting pissed at that. Some people dont like it when the same joke is repeated and repeated and repeated, well...you get the point.
: I just thought a little constructive criticism is needed on this board, :because most people's opinions fall into two catagories:
: Either 1. complete and utter flaming: "This show sux!", and nothing to :back it up.
: Or 2. View Askew loyalty, which is either based on blind support for :anything Kevin touches, or fear of becoming one of those critics we've :defended him against so many times.
Yep, and boy do those types bugger me. Its kinda like the folks who think Tom Green is the king of kings. The guy can say something that only slightly resembles a joke and they'll laugh and laugh, because its cool to love Tom Green.
: I DO, as I said, enjoy the show, though. Any thoughts?
ditto. Last week, I pointed out that the show really didn't have the Kevin Smith magic. Though it was funny, it wasn't his style of humor that we're accustomed to. Mayhaps Kevin hasn't figured out how to make his traditional 'voice' make the transition to tee-vee.
