dogma confusion

I recently emailed your webmaster about the confusion I have about a certain scene from Dogma and as much as I appreciate the response I think its bullshit (no offense). My problem is in the scene where Bethany and Bartelby are on the train and getting hammered you see a few empty beer bottles beside Bartelby and it upsets me. Now, I know that angels can't drink so that is where my confusion lies. I thought that maybe he was somehow tricking her but there is no evidence of that anywhere. Also, he is a watcher, how is it that he doesn't know who they all are when they get on the train. I don't mean to sound anal but I'm a stickler for details and I like to know everything thats going on.
