As far as the "Mail it to yourself and dont open it thing" goes, I've heard thats just a nice thing to do but not an official copyright of any sort. I mean Tamper-proof is kind of a slippery slope. You could mail yourself unsealed bad-assed envelopes. I think telling everyone you know a synopsis of your script would be better. Maybe having your script tatooed on your body by a notary... um never mind.
