I had actually been going over this again and again ever since the first time I saw it. She does give the impression that she has never been with a man...and she later states that to Holden. But everytime I see it I just want to scream at her and say "but you are automatically eleminating half of your possibilities in finding "the One"
I understand though that she needed to make that speech for the impact on Holden to be so devistating. I like to think that Holden is blinded and somewhat deafened by his love for her, that he doesn't really take into full consideration what she is actually saying...but that's just me.
But I am sooooo glad that someone else posted this question!! Now I know it's not just me.
Maybe Kevin will shed some light on it...maybe we just need to get over it.
