Thanks for the input, Vincent!
The only think I like about directing is when the shots are outside. Sometimes I just dig being out doors, even with the tedium of directing.
Can't say I've ever been an actual AD, but I know what you're talking about. I've always been in love with editing and even when I have a billion clips on an NLE to toil over, I don't mind. I won't sleep for days and I don't mind. I wish I could sit in on a transfer, but I have nothing to transfer, hence, no need to be there. Maybe if I got a telecine job . . .
I was never into sound, but I love playing with audio editing tools and doing a little Foley stuff. I enjoy the voice over stuff, too. I like imitating Boris Karloff for no reason if I get a studio mic in front of me.
Again, thanks for the input, and if you don't mind me asking: What are you planning on putting out next? Do you have anything you're aching to get working on? This may sound lame-o/fanboy, but if you need help on the next production. I'd be glad to be out there offering a helping hand! I haven't done any production for almost a year. Can't stand it.
Have a good one!
