: So maybe this is a stupid post and I'm just wasting everyone's time, but I thought that since there are some people into acting and some people who are actors on this board that maybe this would be a good place to ask my question.

: See I'm in limbo between high school and college. I want more than anything in the world to be an actress and have been taking lessons since I was 6. I got into a a fight with my parents about whether I should just get an agent and see what happens with my "career" attempt or if I should go to college. Any advice on how I should handle things? I don't know how to convince my parents that acting is what I serriously want to do with my life.

: Anyhow, sorry to be offtopic and annoying.

: Heidi

My opinion on this matter is that you should go ahead with both. Major in Drama in college and continue to audition for parts on the side. There are soooo many unemployed actors it's disgusting so while working on building your career you might as well get an education too.

In the business world just having a degree...any degree is helpful in obtaining a good job. Just in case your not the next Joey Lauren Adams...LOL
