Ok, Warner is tweeking it. What they are doing is having the disc determine whether the dvd player has been tampered with or is not regionally set. If the DVD player can play any region discs, the movie will not play and a message with display saying that there is nothing wrong with the disc, but it is not compatable with your player. It will suggest that you consult a retailer for more information.
Warner has not implemented this yet and it is still in the testing phase. They might not even use it at all. It isn't set in stone, but I think it is a good idea. I live in America, screw the rest of you. Plus it is their right to protect it. The reason region coding exists is so a person can't own a DVD before it is out in theators. Plus it takes money away from the company that has been licensed to release the movie in the other country.
Stop bitching because your illegal players are fixing to cost you a lot of money when new movies won't play on them. Get used to the fact that America kicks ass and the rest of the world can just screw themselves. Or if you are really clever you can import a region one player and not be screwed. That way you can buy all the region one movies you want without the fear of region one movies not working.
Stop whining because companies might enforce rules that they have set up.
