Because he utters, with PERFECT Shatner delivery, words that could only be said in a bygone (and, I assume, better time)... He yells at his wife, "Don't treat me like a retarded child!"

: This whole affair was tied up when Perez and Wolfman teamed up to create the CRISIS ON IN INFINITE DOBBINS maxi-series. As it turns out, I ran back in time and created myself. Also, Beppo the Super-Chimp never happened.
