okay - so how did he get the rights? and the earlier question: any advice/tips/hints on regards to securing music rights for festival use? or is it just a waste of time to pursue rights with big record labels? perhaps I should stick to local musical artists?
i'm not sure if you're associated with View Askew and/or Kevin Smith, himself. if you are, your input (or Kevin's) to these questions would be greatly appreciated. I'm fishing for tips to this piece of the filmmaking puzzle. i can immagine that Kevin is super busy... so if you know him, and know the answers, that'd be great if you'd pass along the inside scoop.
