Even though partheartedly isn't a word. While it's true that classic "cape and tights" superhero comics will stand the test of time(let's face it; there never WON'T be a Superman and Batman), I disagree when you say that these non-superhero comics won't. It's more than just a gimmick.

Hellblazer is about a middle-aged Englishman who's battled cancer and the "gift" of being one of the DCU's most powerful mages. He reminisces about his younger days in the 1970s, during the punk-era. I can't explain it really, but there's more to this book than a foul-mouthed, rude Brit.

Preacher was a very intelligent book. It wasn't Anti-God, as so many labeled it as. It was a story that said "Yes, there is a God...and he's a mean bastard." It expressed some ideas found in Jonathan Edwards' "Sinners In The Hands of an Angry God". The stories told weren't neccessarily views completely supported by Garth Ennis, rather a possible view-point of religion. Jesse Custer wasn't a BAD guy. The main point is, it wasn't a denouncement of Christianity. It was a perspective from an alternate light. It was more than sex, gore, blood, violence, sex, swearing, and sex.

Punisher is really on the fence. It's neither on the superhero side, nor the non-superhero side.

The idea is, a non-superhero comic's agenda isn't intended to be ANTI-superhero. They're different stories about different kinds of people.
