And yes, Miller's DAREDEVIL run was the pre-cursor, that I'll grant you, but DARK KNIGHT was a phenemenon all to itself- the format, the presentation, and the seeming understanding of the publishers, even at it's inception, that THIS was a ground-breaking, rules-changing work.

You should do yourself a favor, and buy just about every Eisner trade paperback; his SPIRIT comics were so wildly ahead of their time, and in very many ways were the "spiritual" ancestors to today's "mature" comics. But his life-story stuff- CONTRACT WITH GOD, etc, is just plain ol' fanstastic, in a very different direction.
