That's cool. At 14, I was going to Rocky Horror and hanging out with 17-24 year olds. Half of them were in rock bands. Ah, the wonder of having an older brother with cool friends... For me, there was a big difference between 12 and 14. At 12, I was still a kid. A kid who, like you, was a cuused of acting older than she was (I was offered alcohol in restaurants at age 14), but a kid nonetheless. At 14, I was hanging out with a bunch of adults; there's no way you couldn't start picking up on what was going on around you.
I'm not criticizing that you're into Smith movies, just saying that at 12, my mother wouldn't have let me watch 'em. Of course, my mother wasn't too thrilled when I called my babysitter a bitch when I was in elementary school, either.
