No, I suspect that Kevin's joke was not conveyed to Burton in the spirit intended and he offered a reasonable reaction of some anger. It's unfortunate all around.

If you knew what you were talking about at all, you'd know that Tim Burton had no involvement with MONKEYBONE. Henry Selick directed both TIM BURTON'S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS (which Tim Burton conceived and produced) and MONKEYBONE.
