I understand your feelings about downloading it. But I think a possible solution to this problem would be if they would release the movies in all markets at the same times. It sucks that I have not even seen JSBSB yet but I know about 90% of the film from the net. I wish George Lucas would learn this too. I had a boot leg of EP1 before it was released in the US. I got it out of Hong Kong. It only was about $2.00 USD
Another thing, you said that it is not stealing from you, but don't you get a residual income from all the rentals and stuff that come later? If you do then it is in fact stealing from you.

: : And the question:
: : View Askew's opinion of the piracy of their films and other intellectual
: property...
: Of course, I'm not a fan. It's a violation of sorts, and you wish anyone
: who was a fan wouldn't partake in that particular type of theft.
: But then, I don't own any of the films (although, I get the British rights
: to 'Clerks' back in about eighteen years; domestically, Miramax owns the
: film in perpetuity). So it's not really me they're stealing from.
: And when you remove whatever the commercial impact may be and strip away
: the moral issues... well, it IS kind of flattering that someone (or a bunch
: of someones) care about your shit enough to steal it in the first place.
: So - as View Askew spokes-model - I guess I can say that our feelings on
: piracy of our flicks is that we wish it wouldn't go on... but we understand
: it.
: Interesting factoid: 'Clerks' is the most stolen tape in video stores
: across the country.
