Yes, there would, if that's how God wanted things to happen. Like if Linda Fiorentino's character had to go through all that to be the right kind of mother to the next Messiah.

That's not relevant because the omniscience, omnipotent God was not subject to those constraints when choosing the human form to take and could have foreseen what would happen. (Whoa, getting Calvinist here!)

It just means that the Lord works in mysterious ways and it's not up to us mortals to secondguess Him/Her, so we should treat a crisis like it matters because we don't know what the heck God is up to.
