(On a bench in a park or a woodland)

Jon: Are you still seeing him?

Nathan: Not really. He has been involving himself in too much scene lately. All he wants to do is gossip and get drunk at the bar, which is isolating for me because I'm only 20.

Jon: But you're not broken up yet?

Nathan: It's hard to break up like that to a person like Scott. He is very valueless when it comes to relationships. So for him there isn't much difference between going out and not going out. This could be one of those breakups that sheers apart gradually.

Jon: Are there ANY other guys you find attractive?

Nathan: Sexually, yes. Personality-wise, yes. But to have them cute, smart, sweet and gay at the same time is a gold hunt. There's something about the gay scene here that upsets me. It has nothing to do with cross-dressing in itself nor does it have to do with sexual promiscuity.

Jon: Oh, it's the attitude?

Nathan: Yes. Every young gay guy I know is self-conceited in some way. They only want to socialize with people who are "in the circle" and most of the youth discussion groups get taken over by this gossip among socially established queers. The point of a youth group is to provide support and fun for those who have no gay life. As far as I see it, it's like having a seminar for finding a job being attended only by people who are 20 years into their careers. It goes against common sense.

Jon: Just start your own group.

Nathan: I should. But I fear the guys will just say "We already have a youth group." How should I respond? "Oh sure, you have a youth group for those who are into the whole scene and are already well on their way."?

Jon: This is tough. But you really got to state your ambitions, man.

Nathan: Well, thanks for inspiring me. On other words, I'm having trouble getting my ass away from the Internet so I can write a letter trying to get Kevin Smith to come do a lecture here at my school.

Jon: Hope the bureaucracy in the ASUO doesn't get uptight about the 22 grand expense. There should be some support for him, though.

Nathan. I need to get going. There are still many tasks to complete today.

Jon: See you this evening.
