: I guess I don't understand why you wouldn't want to help the economy with everything going on right now?

: But I guess I'm also off-topic, so nevermind...

:
: : Kevin has mentioned about how anal big business can be when it comes to an artist's wishes. So why not celebrate a day to make some difference?

: : The day after American Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year in not only America but many other countries I believe. We need to stop buying stuff just to be buying or just to "help the economy".

: : Celebrate Buy Nothing Day on Friday, November 23! Remember that the best things in life are free! Consider spending this day donating food to the needy or helping out with some late-fall community service projects.

: : I think Kevin himself would appreciate that.

The trick is to learn how to spend the same amount of money more frugally. And one way is to spread it out across the year. When people get caught up in the urge to shop like mad at the end of the year they are likely to buy lots more stuff they don't want and be less happy.
