I believe Shannen Doherty's character on "Beverly Hills, 90210" was Brenda. Perhaps I'm missing part of the joke, but I took it as follows: Willam calls her Brenda, and she calls him a dick because he confused her with another character.
Or maybe Kevin just wanted her to call him a dick. :-)
