Granted they aren't as good as the original Floyd. But Roger left and tried to take the whole band down with him. Wasn't his to destroy.

Try to think about The Wall without the rest of the Floyd. Comfortably Numb and Another Brick In The Wall without Gilmour's guitars? Wish You Were Here without Rick Wright's keys? Wouldn't be the same. And their best album, Dark Side, was a 4-way collaboration.

For how many people is side 4 of The Wall their favorite portion? That's Roger's voice. Without the rest of the Floyd you get an atonal scream as in Pros and Cons. Even Eric Clapton couldn't save that album.

I'd rather they got back together, but if Roger's not interested, the Gilmour Floyd is doing musically interesting work. They could use some help on the lyrics, but it's more interesting than Roger's solo stuff.

John

: Barret was the driving force for ONE ALBUM. Granted, he was a genius, but what Pink Floyd became was, for all intents and purposed, Roger Waters' mouthpiece. The Barret-era Floyd is an entirely different beast then what the band became after he left and Waters took the dominant reigns.

: Vincent

: : Legally it belongs to David Gilmour et al. Morally Pink Floyd belongs to Syd Barrett. He was the original, dominant brains; Waters was just the bass player.
