Since the board is running kinda slow I thought this might be a fine time to pose a debatable question that has been bugging me a bit, forgive me if this has been discussed before, though to my knowledge it has not.
In the script to Chasing Amy it is said that Holden and Banky's office is just that - an office - and that they each have seperate living arrangements. This theory is supported in the movie when Banky comes to the office with chocolate milk in hand to discover Holden and Alyssa together on his couch.
However I have always wondered whether or not they actually do live in that office. For instance things like "here lies dick boy" written on one of the doors implies sleep where in would mean a bedroom. Banky comes out from off screen in his boxers and a t-shirt rubbing his eyes as though he just woke up. Holden and Alyssa did have sex there - why wouldnt they have just gone back to his apartment? The office is set up to the point where a person could live there.
The thought arose to me that possibly Banky lives elswhere and Holden lives in that office. However, in the script, after Banky and Holden have their argument about "finger cuffs" and Holden storms out it is written that Holden is going home.
So whats the deal? Anyone know?
