and now I have several reasons that are all tied together by this one post. Eerie.
I'm student teaching right now, in English, and my first co-operating teacher was on Mr. Rogers when he was little, and when he tells the kids this, they go crazy. Although I'm sure you know it, I just wanted to reiterate how much of an impact you folks have had on all of us. Especially those growing up near Pittsburgh.
Also, the date palindrome is something that my 8th graders noticed today while they were writing compare/contrast essays about how their lives and our country have changed in the aftermath. It's odd how these things all connect.
Oh, and your haiku is very good. It's simple and deep and makes people think. We talked about haiku on Wednesday, and I wish I had seen this earlier, because it would have been a nice way to tie the two lessons together. If you wouldn't have minded educating even more young people.
Thanks,
XOXO--Courtney
