Lake Erie, perhaps. (I way prefer "erie:" to "weird", word-wise.)Thanks so
much, Courtney. So great that you're teaching; my Mom and sister did/do
too. The haiku was in response to a thread on the Michael Moore ("The Awful
Truth") site; thanks for responding to it. I'd be glad if you share it:
please give my heartfelt greetings to your teacher and your students. I
often felt like Hildegard Hummingbird in the opera: bringing the folks in
innocent Pittsburgh the hard or sorrowful news from "Rockland" NYC. Keep on
weaving it all together. ugga-mugga/peace.

: and now I have several reasons that are all tied together by this one
post. Eerie.

: I'm student teaching right now, in English, and my first co-operating
teacher was on Mr. Rogers when he was little, and when he tells the kids
this, they go crazy. Although I'm sure you know it, I just wanted to
reiterate how much of an impact you folks have had on all of us.
Especially those growing up near Pittsburgh.

: Also, the date palindrome is something that my 8th graders noticed today
while they were writing compare/contrast essays about how their lives and
our country have changed in the aftermath. It's odd how these things all
connect.

: Oh, and your haiku is very good. It's simple and deep and makes people
think. We talked about haiku on Wednesday, and I wish I had seen this
earlier, because it would have been a nice way to tie the two lessons
together. If you wouldn't have minded educating even more young people.

: Thanks,
: XOXO--Courtney
: ...always a fan...
