It is your opinion. Comparing the space battle to WWII pilot battles is a nice try but shouldn't it be original and not so similar to something from the 1940's. The lightsaber scene being chreographed by real swordsmen was nice too but Ray Parks is where it at now with back flips and force jumps. Understand, I did like Star Wars when I saw it but now in retrospect it sucks. George Lucas is a good storyteller but not great. And a glimpse of Boba Fett rocketing 10 feet to only be pushed in a pit(Sarlacc). That is nothing. Oh yeah, his cameo in Empire was cute. What the hell is a Space Odyssey?

: 2. Star Wars sucked ass - FALSE. IT IS NOT ONLY IN AFI'S TOP 100 FILMS, BUT IT, AND EMPIRE, ARE 2 OF THE TOP 10 GROSSING FILMS OF ALL TIME (OR AT LEAST THEY WERE RECENTLY). JEDI, I THINK, IS IN THE TOP 20.
: 3. The space battle scene was very low class - ALSO NOT TRUE. YOU SEEM TO BE SPOILED BY COMPUTERS NOWADAYS DOING THE FX. THE FIGHT SCENES WERE STATE-OF-THE-ART BACK IN THE DAY. THEY WERE BASED ON WWII FIGHTER PILOT BATTLES.
: 4. and the lightsaber scene was attrocious - FALSE AGAIN. THE LIGHTSABER BATTLE WAS CHOREOGRAPHED USING ACTUAL SWORDSMEN WHO TRAINED THE ACTORS. TRUE, IT COULD'VE BEEN MORE ENERGETIC, BUT VADER WAS JUST TOYING WITH THE NOW OLD & SLOW OBI-WAN.
: 5. I once heard that Lucas originally had one lead actor and a lead actress but then decided to split the lead character into two. Thats how we got Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. If thats true then why did he insist on making cry baby Luke. Han Solo could have been the lead by himself. Imagine if Han Solo could use the force - THAT'S ONE OF YOUR REASONS WHY YOU HATE THE MOVIE? WHO CARES?? STAR WARS STARTED AS AN IDEA, LIKE EVERY OTHER MOVIE, AND DEVELOPED INTO WHAT WE ALL KNOW. THESE IDEAS PROGRESS THROUGH TIME INTO OTHERS. I THINK THAT IF IT WERE JUST ONE CHARACTER, THE MOVIE(S) WOULD BE LACKING. I NEVER HEARD OF THE ONE LEAD MALE ROLE, BUT I'LL GIVE YOU THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT.
: 6. Lucas sucks - FALSE AGAIN. HE'S ONE OF THE TOP DIRECTORS/STORYTELLERS OF OUR TIME. STAR WARS IS PROBABLY THE GREATEST SPACE ODYSSEY OF ALL TIME. LET'S SEE YOU DO ANYTHING EVEN 1% AS GOOD. GIVE HIM SOME CREDIT FOR CHRIST'S SAKE.
: 7. he never gave us a full glimpse of Boba Fett. I loved Boba Fett but I never really saw him in action. That is a rip off of the highest degree - I WOULD'VE LIKED TO HAVE SEEN FETT IN ACTION, BUT HE WASN'T AN IDEA UNTIL AFTER STAR WARS. THAT'S WHY HE WASN'T IN THE MOVIE. YOU SAW A FULL GLIMPSE OF HIM IN EMPIRE & JEDI, SO WHAT ARE YOU BITCHING ABOUT AGAIN?
