Lucas did the WWII battles because he not only liked seeing the footage, etc., but to be "fresh." I know going off of 30+ year stuff might not be considered fresh or original, but he just wanted to differentiate his film from battles done in other films back then. If you've ever seen space-like films done around those times, they seem very generic.
And I do like Ray Parks doing the choreography of the lightsaber battles. They did try the some flips with Empire & Jedi, but like I was touching on before, Vader was keeping pace with his opponent (Luke) and the pace was kept to a minimum. If Luke was fighting someone like himself and not a near 7ft. cyborg, it would have more flips. Vader's just not a "flip-py" guy, he just steamrollers everyone.
About Boba Fett (my favorite character), it would've been nice to see more of him. But if you think about it, what if they did? If he was more of a major character, would people like me like him as much? It might have ruined the mystique about him. I figure that if by showing him a little bit made me like him a lot, then so be it.
A Space Odyssey is basically a Space Epic (an usually long, dramatic story).
: It is your opinion. Comparing the space battle to WWII pilot battles is a nice try but shouldn't it be original and not so similar to something from the 1940's. The lightsaber scene being chreographed by real swordsmen was nice too but Ray Parks is where it at now with back flips and force jumps. Understand, I did like Star Wars when I saw it but now in retrospect it sucks. George Lucas is a good storyteller but not great. And a glimpse of Boba Fett rocketing 10 feet to only be pushed in a pit(Sarlacc). That is nothing. Oh yeah, his cameo in Empire was cute. What the hell is a Space Odyssey?
