Never let people tell you you can't do something. Ever. More than half the time, all the people who tell you you will fail when you try something extrordinary are people who are afraid to even try. They don't have the balls to "risk the comfortable situations on the big money and fabulous prizes". You obviously do. Fuck them. I can empathize with your situation. A friend of mine and I are currently working on putting our own comics label together. I know there are plenty of people who think we'll fail, but neither one of us gives a shit. It's something we want to give a serious try and we think can succeed.
The old cliche is true, "No one is a failure until they stop trying." Naysayers can straight up eat a bowl of dicks. If it means something to you, go for it and don't worry about what anyone else says.
