: As long as we can keep it VERY INTERESTING, it'll work. If not, it'll quickly become a Bore-A-Thon...
I think individual Q and As for the shorts would be a little tedious after a while. A group thing at the end of each block maybe?
: Bottom Line: I think JG, Pat, and the Fan stuff would fill up the 'five slots' and make for a kick-ass event.
I guess I just think... a third VA-type film would be good to short of... sandwich together the fan stuff together. So that the fan sections being too long don't make some attendees feel... ah... cheated?
BHD, ABP and DF... much as I love each of them, I think Kevin's right... two V-thons is a pretty safe limit per film.
Bring back Vulgar or a final edit of Now You Know?
Maybe by this thing all comes together, that project Vin's talking about will have come together as well?
: Some sideshows I've thought of for the weekend involve doing another 'Reality Tour', or maybe putting on a straight up party with a bar, some food, and a DJ. Maybe throw in some kind of talent contest or other comedy-relief type thing...
The Reality Tour idea never really did much for me personally... but I know a lot of people loved it. But some kinda talent show would be neat... like, a tie-in with the idea of fan's showcasing their stuff as well.
: More than a few people hated the January 6th date, but hotel costs were so cheap and the weekend was so dead it was kinda worth it. Maybe the end of January or beginning of February would be a better timeframe. Kev should think about picking a holiday weekend like MLK or President's Day...
Hm.
But holiday weekends are when theatres make a lot of their money.
Would the Clearview be so quick to rent the whole thing out for a holiday Monday?
Unless we're talking Count Basie. Then, shit, that could be on a Friday or a Saturday or whatnot.
