well what I got from the film is that one guy who had a harsh life had a dream- he was willing to show his friends somthing wonderful - they chickend out. They felt save in miserable lives. He wanted somthing better. THat is why she is so depressed in the end- Her life is miserable and she never went for her dreams.
At the same time the shot of lee at the end suggest he might not be that happy with what he thought would be utopia.
Does that make any sence? I don't really know- I didn't get to watch it line for line that is what I picked up after one half hazard viewing.
