I noticed that Brian is patting himself on the back for "making Star Wars geeks cry." Not only is this pretty pathetic but it is just plain wrong. As a Star Wars geek I don't cry when I read Lynch's negative posts about AOTC I more or less laugh. After all, here is a "talented" geek whose passions fall somewhere within the realm of uber-geekness getting off on trying to cause misery to other "geeks."
It boggles the logic bone.
The AOTC bashing is probably based less on valid points and more on a thirst for making other people feel bad about being happy. It is similar to tripping that nerd in school while he walks back to his table during lunch, causing all of his food to spill out on the floor.
What is the point of repeatedly trashing a movie for which one holds such a low opinion? I don't frequent the Matrix boards or make continuous "the Matrix sucks" posts throughout the Internet, despite the fact that I do not think the Matrix is a movie worth all of its praise. Why do I not do this? I suspect it is because I would not waste my time continuously commenting on a movie for which I have little to no respect. That, at least to my way of thinking, would be a perfect way to waste time.
*shrug*
