she was riding a bike that was too big for her. She rode up on the curb in front of our house. It was the night before garbage day and my father had put all the garbage out by the curb, including some 6ft tomato stakes from the backyard garden. He had broken them in half, splintering them. Well, she fell off the curb into the garbage pile. One of the splintered stakes went right into neck. It didn't pierce that back but the dr.'s could feel it poking the skin on the back of her neck from inside. Miracuously, they were able to remove it without any major damage to her. She had a HUGE t-shaped scar that has just begun to go away in the last few years (this happen 22 yrs ago). So that's my story. It's as close as I could get to a wacky docter story, even though the doctors were less than wacky-they did save her life!
