The problem is that if the board runs this way then that means far more people like it than don't.
Sure I hate the idiots that take it to the extreme such as fuckin_shit, but there are plenty of us who talk about sports when the brits are up and it's like 5am here and there's nothing else going on.
Plus, when there are no fucking movies to talk about, lest you want to bitch about J.Lo some more, there has to be something to keep comunity going.
I think this is about a few people who don't feel like wading through posts that others make while having fun.
It has nothing to do with integrity of the board.
Plus, Adam pissed on someone else before Brian pissed on him, and Brian and I have argued in the past and probably will again, but he's never pissed on me.
It's about how you try to make your point and adam is being pretty elitist about it.
He's talking about all off topic posts when that's really ridiculous. Kevin himself posts off topic, plenty of people post off topic that have been here forever.
I wouldn't want to come here if all I got to see is the same old crap.
I would suggest that as a newbie who knows nothing you should keep your mouth shut when it comes to long term board policies. You haven't earned the right to say what should be posted because you don't know us well enough.
Sure you don't give a fuck if I want to talk about an inside joke with POJK, or razz some of our resident brits about "football" because you don't know many people. You also don't realize how many times Lynch has been amiable about things.
Those of us who have been here a while know that you only have to deal with the wrath of Brian if you're an idiot or if you're being an idiot. He has never flammed me any of the times we have disagreed, no matter how much we argued he never "pissed on me." Those of us who are here all the time also know each other and enjoy talking to one another and just because one guy wants to make a petition or some old posters want to be able to assert some sort of elitism by casting out the dregs doesn't mean that we want to adjust just for them.
Kevin goes right along with many of our OT posts when he has time to show up, and starts a few to boot.
When you're dealing with a site that has a Writer, Director, Comic Junkie, funny man etc all in one place it's really fucking hard to get off topic to begin with.
In short, the fact that you don't have any friends here is the reason you don't care that someone has levied a petition to fuck with us. If you did have anything invested you would see what a bunch of bunk it is.
If I have to put up with bullshit posts and fuckin_shit for 5 years I'll do it to avoid walking on eggshells about what I post on my favorite message board.
If you look at a couple of the sigs you'll see how ridiculous they are anyway.
