: but A) I am simply playing devil's advocate and B) I don't listen to ANY of the Who's music and totally sympathize with the death of this man as a human being nonetheless.

: Ok, having said all of that. Here is my arguement. He was there since the beginning, but the music mags are reporting that he wrote none of the hit songs for the band, only cotributed album songs and B sides, never wrote any of the "hits."

: So why would you retire for the guy who only wrote the B sides?

: As I said, its just a thought, its not even my opinion> I was shocked as hell they were pressing onward. But it is a thought.

You really could say the same thing about Ringo Starr (yeah, he SANG "Yellow Submarine", but so what) or really any rock and roll drummer... although I think Led Zeppelin did the right thing after Bonzo died. Could the Stones really go on without Charlie Watts? I don't think so and I don't think Keith would let that happen.

REALLY, you could say the same thing about George Harrison, too... he only contributed one A side to the Beatles...

All I am saying is retire "The Who" name.

Who the hell is gonna replace "ox" anyway? NO ONE plays like that... well, Les Claypool, MAYBE. But he's got his own thing going...
