: But he didn't find out about Anne Lively..... The female Pre Cog was having some flashback visions, and anyone who worked there including Anderton could have eventually figured it out, Anderton wasn't even looking into it....especially if they rolled out the pre crime unit nationally someone might have figured it out... I just think it didn't make sense.....the rest of the movie made sense to me, just not why Lamar was going after Anderton

I guess that the point is that the Max von Sydow was so evil that he would go after anybody who ever came remotely close to finding anything out. So as soon as Cruise is all hot-to-trot about the minority reports which von Sydow was hiding for NO GOOD REASON [in the original story, Philip K. Dick correctly points out that of course there are minority reports, because if the future was totally set in stone and definite, the pre-crime unit would be unable to do anything to stop anything], and von Sydow realizes that that specific minority report would be dangerous -- even though it's been destroyed -- he had to kill Cruise.

Hey, I didn't say it made sense. But, then, I didn't say anything else positive about the movie (aside from the amazing first hour) either.

: Additionally, I think the whole cliche of him being a good cop, resorting to drugs, because he lost his son was too cliche.....MENDOZA! It worked in the movie, but I expect more from Spielberg

Well, jeez, if you want to start knocking the movie for its cliches, you'll be talking far longer than the movie lasted.
