When was the last time a woman had a genuinely "hysterically funny" presence in any of Kevin Smith's movies? Nothing against any of the performances of the ladies of the Viewaskewniverse but they were more of the straight man variety. If Kevin is going to follow suit, in my opinion, he is going to hire the best woman for the job. Meaning, she will be able to handle the fast, witty dialog with Affleck for 90 so minutes, ala Joey Adams in Chasing Amy. And I'll agree with you on the Wedding Planner, but check Lopez out in Out of Sight, U-Turn, and The Cell. I think she has the acting chops to pull it off.
