If Kevin is going to follow suit, in my opinion, he is going to hire the best woman for the job. Meaning, she will be able to handle the fast, witty dialog with Affleck for 90 so minutes, ala Joey Adams in Chasing Amy. And I'll agree with you on the Wedding Planner, but check Lopez out in Out of Sight, U-Turn, and The Cell. I think she has the acting chops to pull it off.

None of Smith's movies had really funny girls in them, but that's not really what I'm concerned about; all the girls in Smith's movies were able to deliver the lines in the right ways to make the situations feel funny and the way they should have; Joey Lauren Adams in Chasing Amy during the scene where they're comparing scars is a great example.
And I suppose she could do it, but probably not as well as some other actresses could.
