he just wants to leave behind characters like jay and silent bob so he isnt always known as "the guy who created those characters" instead of "that great movie director". and the animated clerks movie is being made (in my opinion) just because the tv series was a failure, he wants to proove that it was actually funny and wasnt given enough of a chance.
