answer my LoTR and Usual Suspects question, plz

1. how could keyser sose make up all those names from the bulliten board, if he had already gave his whole story to the court, (which he got the immunity for). they wouldnt match up

2. in LoTR, how did they manage to make hobbits look so much smaller compared to gandalf, and everyone else. it looked so real, anyone know how they did this?
