Getting started in film

I've just finished a degree in Media + Film & I want 2 get into the film business (i.e. directing). I'm looking for advise/tips on how to get my foot in the door. If u could help me in anyway I'd reallly appreciate it, as I've hit a brick wall in my attempts so far.
