It also rips off BEN-HUR and SPARTACUS in very big ways. I have no problems with movies that contain elements from other films, but give us SOMETHING new- just a little bit of SOMETHING.
The only thing I liked about GLADIATOR was Joaquin Phoenix's performance. Everything else- the story, the cinematography, the editing, the CGI effects- were lame.

: Gladiator was nothing more than a fashionable ripoff of Braveheart...the fighting scenes were fair, the acting was WAY over acted...the story was VERY predictable and took no chances, even the digital graphics were really really really shitty for a move of that scale...no, Gladitor should not have been nominated, let alone given the trophy...
