I'd wanted to not say anything because I didn't wanna come off as, like, a fucking braggart or anything but... clearly, it needs to be delineated that "thefacer's" review of Jersey Girl was total bullshit... before some people start mistaking it as "bad buzz" when it's clearly either someone trying to be funny and failing miserably or someone pretending to have seen it to look like he's connectedL

I was at the Jersey Girl screening Lee mentioned... so was sean, so were a couple of the Poopshoot guys and at least a few other people from this board, Vincent for one... and probably a few other people I didn't run into.

This guy did NOT see the flick.

One, I can swear to you, without spoiling anything, that Anderson weren't in it.

Two, Lee wasn't one of the leads... him and Damon both had small cameos... fucking hilarious cameos, but I don't think either of them was on screen for two minutes.

Three... it is in NO WAY like "She's Having A Baby"... because, spoiling as little as possible, the film is COMPLETELY NOT about the process of pregnancy and is a lot more about the raising of an elementary-school age kid. The pregnancy... while important to the plot, of course... is strictly background to the romance of the parents and the kid itself.

Four, if this guy actually saw the flick... he'd know Affleck wasn't an ad exec. He's in the ballpark... but at the plate, he's whiffing.

Five, there's almost no 90s jokes. Most of the flick happens obstensively "now".

Sixth... and most importantly... it's one of the best comedy/dramas I've ever seen.

J-Lo will surprise you, Affleck gets to show his whole range, it's a dark fucking planet if Carlin doesn't get a Best Supporting Actor nod... and if Kevin doesn't get Pixar to make a little add-on 8-minute CGI movie with Carlin, Root and Starr to drum up DVD sales, I'm gonna cry like a little baby girl.

It's brutally honest about parenting and love in ways I've never seen... and it's going to have probably the coolest soundtrack album ever. I can honestly say that the only criticism I could muster about the film is that a sequence or two feels a little quick... and even that, when you see what they were setting up, it hits you like a ton of bricks why things went a little quick.

There is no way on this planet, with all he got wrong, that this "Polonius" or "Facer" saw the flick.

Okay. End rant.

Mike
