It's a totally pointless and uninvolving remake, and I WAS OPEN TO LIKING IT since MANHUNTER changed and/or omitted lots of things from Harris' novel. Even though I was (and am) a big MANHUNTER fan, I thought, "Okay, fine, if they want to make a new adaptation of RED DRAGON that's closr to the novel, the more power to them." Then I saw it and 90% of it was almost verbatim the same as MANHUNTER, and a lame copy at that.
Bret Ratner is a hack. Michael Mann is an artist. Period.
