: By your argument, we're attacking Iraq because a Terrorist organization, not a sovereign nation, mind you, attacked our country.
Yes & no. Only a hostile nation that has ties w/that terrorist organization.
: Furthermore, I (and the UN and the rest of the world) have not been presented with ANY information showing that Iraq is aidig in terrorist plots WHATSOEVER.
So what?? You will soon. It's not up to us to decide to go to war. It's up to the officials we elected. That's why we elect them - to make decisions for us.
: The US, with the LARGEST cache of illegal weapons is demanding that a much less powerful country disarm.
We don't have "illegal" weapons. What he have is allowed. Only hostile countries cannot have anything of the nuclear/atomic/biological/chemical variety.
: Iraq is a country which ATTEMPTED to create a nuclear program, but abandoned it 20 years ago.
Is this Tariq Aziz? Bullshit! What about the Uranium (which is used to build such weapons) that Saddam got from Africa within the past few years?
: I could only assume that the war is for other motives; and we being the largest consumer of oil in the world, is a pretty acceptable reason (for some us officials) to approve an invasion of a country that has done nothing wrong.
We get just about all our oil from Algeria. Add to that that we're going towards other sources of energy in the near future just doesn't make sense. Besides, Saddam shouldn't be in control of such things.
A country that has done nothing wrong?? To be young & naive again....
