: I honestly think the guy's so insulated with yesmen producers and dorky effects guys that he really just has no clue of his public perception... and he's lost touch with his own films. I think the guy really is deluded enough to believe that the new edits of the first three are "better" and "more complete".
I remember reading an interview with him and some others (Samuel L. Jackson, etc.) in "Maxim" (?) and they asked Lucas about JarJar and said something like, "Everyone hated that character...". And he refused to admit that most people hated JarJar. He said something about how the kids really loved JarJar, etc. You could almost hear the defensive tone in his voice. I think he really is clueless to public perception because of yes-men. I have the Attack of the Clones DVD and I watched the making of the movie thing on there and you could just tell that everyone around him kisses his butt (not that I blame them - he's the Big Cheese). I don't think he's hardly challenged by anyone.
: I'd compare him to another loony insulated genius-who-lost-it-in-seclusion but, according to 20/20, even Michael Jackson doesn't dig "Clones".
I thought the kid said he didn't dig the movie, while Michael just gave a grimace (or, on humans, what would be called a "smile").
