but I'm curious. You mention "story", so I'm not sure if what you're writing is a screenplay or novel. If you are writing a screenplay, the point of view shouldn't be a problem, well I mean it can be a problem, but you can write it in the point of view of more than one person. Most novels and short stories are expected to be written with a limited point of view. This is difficult, but I find it's easier to actually write in first person, not just in the point of view of the lead character. Let the lead character be the narrator, and sometimes that helps to limit the third person insight. Sometimes first person is done directly in films too, think High Fidelity. Anyway, these are just my thoughts. I don't know much of anything anyway. But, I do know (and this Kevin will tell you this too) that you shouldn't give up! Take a break, put it aside for a while if you must (this helps for me), but don't quit! Good Luck!

: Since i like your writing style, i figured I would just ask ya since you come here.
: Little background:
: I have had a story in my mind forming for almost ten years now, there is not a day I do not think of something new for it or some way to refine what I have already created mentally. It has some autobigraphical aspects, but is more fiction that autobigraphical, i just have injected it with some deeply personal experiences in my own life.

: I just started trying to write it down a couple weeks ago, ist going very slow, and i am finding myself writing it in a third person point of view when i really want it to be from the point of view of the lead chracter, but for some reason I just can not get it to come out that way.
: Its also coming out very scattered and not as whole concepts like i have created it in my mind.

: In other words my beautiful story is coming out like crap and like someone else wrote it. lol

: So, being i am not experienced at all at writing except for some peoms as a teen and papers i got raves for as a freshman in college 13 years ago. Do you have any suggestions or advice? Or ami just hopeless and should give the whole freaking thing up? (not that i have any hope of it seeing anyones eyes but my own in the first place i just would like to at least get it out of my head and on paper)

: Thanks, Heather
