:Joe - wow. How many understood what you did about the King's pet
birds! thank you. bless you.

I think the lasting memorial to Fred Rogers will be the legacy of
tolerance and understanding he gently instilled in the people who
grew up with the pleasure of watching him.

: I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for Fred Rogers. I
would be afraid to go down the drain. I wouldn't know about the many
ways to say I love you. I wouldn't know that sometimes a bird on a
stick can be just as real as the real thing if you love it enough.

: Betty, my condolences to you. My condolences, also, to the other
people who, like me, were the only person Mr Rogers was talking to
every day. His television neighbors will miss him.

: "It's such a good feeling, to know you're alive.
: It's such a happy feeling, you're growing inside.
: And when you wake up ready to say,
: 'I think I'll make a snappy, new day!'

: It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling
: that I'll be back when the day is new.
: And I'll have more ideas for you.
: And you'll have things you'll want to talk about.
: I will, too!"

: We love you, Mr. Rogers. You always made each day a special
day...and you know how? Because of just your being you.

: Excuse me. I have to make sure the child inside me knows he's
loved.
