I personally think, that amongst other more current reasons, he probably feels obliged to back Bush as the Americans helped us in WW2 - which is some pretty fuckin huge favour!
My own view is that its a pointless exercise. Its not just Saddam, its a whole regime that needs to be broken down, if Saddam is killed, without continued military, financial and political support from the US and its allies, another dictator will just take his place - and as has happened before - we simply pull out after a war and let them pick up the pieces themselves.
Plus, the tradgey of 9/11 is marred by the taking of innocent, civilian lives in another country - not justified.
